CNC Milling from Arnsberg

Evotec is an owner-managed metalworking company in Arnsberg – founded in 2000 and now in its second generation. Milling takes place in our own plant on two CNC machines: parts from plate, block and pre-cut blanks on the Mazak VCN510C-II vertical machining centre, and aluminium profiles and long parts up to 8 m in a single set-up on the elumatec SBZ 150, a 5-axis profile machining centre.

Cutting to size, stamping and forming, tube processing, welding, powder coating and assembly are all under one roof. For these operations, your part does not have to travel between suppliers – you have one contact person from quotation to delivery.

  • elumatec SBZ 150, a 5-axis profile machining centre
  • Profiles and long parts up to 8 m in a single set-up
  • Milling, drilling and tapping from a single source
  • In-house further processing: welding, powder coating, assembly

What We Mill: Plates, Blocks and Profiles

Prismatic parts to your drawing – samples, one-off parts and production runs by arrangement.

01

Plate and block parts

Contours, pockets, face-milled surfaces and hole patterns on parts from plate, block or pre-cut blanks – milled on the Mazak VCN510C-II.

02

Profiles up to 8 m

Aluminium profiles and long parts in a single set-up – machined from several sides and at freely programmable angles, without re-clamping the profile.

03

Drilling and tapping

Holes and threads produced directly on the machining centres; on tubes and profiles, also flow drilling with thread forming up to M10.

04

Cutting to size in-house

Before machining, we saw profiles, tubes and bars to length ourselves – straight or mitred. See Contract Sawing for details.

05

Surface finishing and assembly

Powder coating on our own Eisenmann line, plus welding and assembly in the same plant.

06

Inspection and documentation

Initial sample inspection report by arrangement, documented processes and traceability.

Machines for CNC Milling

Two machines, two strengths: block parts on the machining centre, long profiles on the profile machining centre.

Mazak VCN510C-II – 3-axis vertical machining centre

The vertical machining centre from Yamazaki Mazak is designed for prismatic parts from plate, block and pre-cut blanks. The machine is installed at our plant in Arnsberg (Zur Alten Ruhr 4a).

Thin plates, sheets and flat pre-cut blanks are secured across their full surface on the Mazak's vacuum table – with no clamps in the tool path. This lets us mill the outer contour, cut-outs and pockets in a single set-up, and clamping distortion on thin parts stays low. Holding tabs keep small parts attached to the one-piece plate skeleton until milling is complete.

  • Contours, pockets, face-milled surfaces, hole patterns and threads
  • Vacuum table for full-surface clamping of thin plates and pre-cut blanks
  • Spindle speed up to 12,000 min−1 (according to the manufacturer's data for the model series)
  • Axis travel X / Y / Z: 1,050 / 530 / 510 mm (according to the manufacturer's data sheet for the model series)
  • Before quoting, we check your drawing to see whether your part fits within the working area

elumatec SBZ 150 – profile machining centre for lengths up to 8 m

On the elumatec SBZ 150, a 5-axis profile machining centre, we machine aluminium profiles and long parts up to 8 m in a single set-up – from several sides and at freely programmable angles. Because the profile is not re-clamped, hole patterns and milled cut-outs stay aligned with one another. A saw blade in the tool changer cuts the parts to length in the same set-up.

  • Swivel head: A 0–90°, C 0–345° (according to the manufacturer's data for the model series)
  • Positional 5-axis machining: drilling, milling, tapping
  • Cutting to length with the saw blade in the tool changer

Materials

Our focus is aluminium – as plate, block or extruded profile. We check your drawing to see whether your part can also be milled from steel, stainless steel, brass or copper. Please state the material and temper (for example EN AW-6082 T6) and the quantity in your enquiry.

  • Aluminium as plate, block or pre-cut blank
  • Aluminium extrusions and long parts up to 8 m
  • Other metals, subject to a review of your drawing

Quality Assurance

Evotec GmbH is certified to DIN EN ISO 9001:2015 (TÜV NORD CERT). The scope of certification covers stamped and formed parts, welded assemblies and tube processing; CNC milling is not currently included.

Nevertheless, our way of working applies here too: we check every drawing before quoting, document every order so that it is traceable, and agree with you before production starts which dimensions will be inspected and how. We prepare an initial sample inspection report by arrangement.

Frequently Asked Questions about CNC Milling

On the Mazak VCN510C-II vertical machining centre, we mill parts from plate, block and pre-cut blanks. Profiles and long parts up to 8 m are machined on the elumatec SBZ 150, a 5-axis profile machining centre.
Up to 8 m in a single set-up. The swivel head of the SBZ 150 reaches the profile from several sides and at freely programmable angles. Because the profile is not re-clamped, hole patterns and milled cut-outs stay aligned with one another.

A drawing as a PDF with dimensions and tolerances, plus – if available – the 3D model as STEP or IGES, or 2D data as DXF or DWG. Via the contact form, you can upload up to 10 files with a maximum of 20 MB each and 40 MB in total.
We produce samples, one-off parts and production runs by arrangement. For larger quantities, we can also check on request whether in-house stamping would be more economical, and compare the two routes for you.
That depends on the material, part size and geometry – which is why we do not quote a blanket figure. Please specify your tolerances on the drawing. Before quoting, we check whether we can hold them reliably, and we will tell you openly if we cannot.
Yes. In the same plant, we weld (including aluminium and orbital TIG welding), powder coat on our Eisenmann coating line, build assemblies and, on request, ship directly to your end customers.
Yes. We saw aluminium profiles, tubes and bars to length and make mitre cuts in-house – as a separate order or as the first step before milling. See Contract Sawing for details.
